AKSE (meaning “reflection” in Urdu) is Pakistan’s Digital Heritage & Tourism Innovation Lab, created to bring culture, architecture, and community stories to life through immersive virtual experiences. We work at the intersection of heritage, technology, and education—capturing real places and transforming them into digital reflections people can explore from anywhere in the world
AKSE began as an academic collaboration and grew into a movement focused on ensuring Pakistan’s stories are not lost—they’re re-imagined for a global audience through research, creativity, and community connection
Our Mission
Our mission is to preserve and showcase Pakistan’s cultural and architectural heritage using immersive technology, making it accessible for learning, exploration, and pride—while strengthening the link between academia, community, and tourism innovation.
We do this by building curated virtual experiences that combine research-driven storytelling with modern XR production—so heritage is not only documented, but experienced.
Our Vision
AKSE’s vision is to make Pakistan’s heritage timeless and accessible through digital reflection and global connection—ensuring that the spaces and stories that shaped us can be explored by anyone, anytime, anywhere.
We envision a Pakistan where heritage is not distant or forgotten, but present in everyday learning and discovery—where a student can “visit” culture and history with the same ease as opening a webpage.
